Tabay is a nucleo outside of Merída. I had a great conversation with a father of two students in the orchestra there. He remarked that the discipline his children have learned through the El Sistema program has extended to other parts of their lives, making them more responsible and diligent young people.  Like many other parents we encountered in Venezuela, he struggles to arrange his work schedule around their rehearsals but is determined to make it work because of this growth and his hopes for their future.
